Following up on the success of our HCS series high power supplies, we come up with this new range of low power supplies based on the feedbacks from end users. We add an USB port for access to computer to run cyclical operation with programmable voltage, current, period time and cycles. The on-housing presets, separate remote control, rotary encoder dual action control for easy tuning of voltage and current, and all the features of the original HCS are kept. In addition it is of universal AC input voltage . It is probably the most cost effective Remote Programmable Power supply with such advanced features and protections. It is ideal for laboratory, university, work shop, production, quality control and sophisticated DIY applications.

Tablet PC becomes popular. MANSON thinks this will be a common platform for remote control console.
MANSON prepares an application in iPad/Android for Power Supply remote control and Digital Power Meter remote monitoring.

To enable MANSON USB ready devices to being managed in this platform, we use Raspberry Pi technology to make the connection happen.
You can connect Manson Power Supply and DPM with USB port to Raspberry Pi B+ model. Then they can be remotely controlled through TCP/IP network from iPad/Android.
To enable this feature, it just needs two things.
1. Driver to run in Raspberry Pi. It can be downloaded in this page
2. iPad or Android apps. Search Manson Power Supply in Google Play or App store.

How to configure USB port
HCS USB configuration for remote programming This application note describe how to configure the USB port for HCS remote programming use. HCS remote programmable power supply with USB model can connected to PC through USB cable. Beside using Manson bundled PC control software, it can also be controlled by HCS command set. Manson HCS power supply is using a USB to serial bridge design for remote connection. When it connected to PC, it will converted as COM port as following picture. E.g. COM3 If the COM port does not come up, please check USB driver probably installed. The USB driver is come with HCS software CD. Then it can program as stand COM port. The default COM port setting; baudrate : 9600 Data bits : 8 bit stop bit : 1 Parity : None The HCS then can be programmed by send ASCII commend to this COM3. Please refer to HCS manual for commend set list
